Dressing up Storm Water Pump Stations:

making them a little easier on the eyes

We have to live with them, but maybe they don’t have to stick out like such sore thumbs. The City will present plans at next week’s Design Review Board meeting to dress up those necessary storm water pump stations through landscaping and other architectural enhancements.

The proposal will apply to all current and future pumping stations “to help the pump stations blend into the neighborhoods” where they are installed.

If the DRB approves the designs, the Department of Public Works will provide renderings for proposed screening for each pump station which will then be presented at public meetings prior to commencement of work. The image above shows a concept for landscape screening. Architectural screening may also be used as reflected in the City's proposal to the DRB.

The proposal will be discussed by the Design Review Board, Tuesday, January 3rd, City Hall, 1700 Convention Center Drive, Commission Chambers. The meeting begins at 8:30 am and this is item #10.
