The new South Beach Trolley loops and Collins Express service are proving popular. The increased ridership has resulted in a few issues along the way as well as a lot of customer feedback for making improvements.
In just three weeks, average ridership on the new South Beach loops is approximately 4,000 passengers per day, nearly double that of its predecessor, the County-operated South Beach Local. Meanwhile, the Collins Express, which is a more direct service than its predecessor, the Collins Link, has seen ridership increase from approximately 2,900 passengers per day to approximately 3,650 passengers per day. The increase has meant some trolleys are reaching capacity and drivers are unable to stop to pick up additional riders.
The City has published a Letter to Commission outlining customer feedback and details on potential solutions.
