Construction will begin Tuesday on a new kayak launch dock on the waterway west of Dickens Avenue and just north of 73rd Street. The project includes installation of an approach platform, a gangway and a pile-anchored floating dock in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). It also includes removal of invasive vegetation and replenishing mangroves adjacent to the shoreline, walkways to access the kayak launch, and new environmental signage. Construction is expected to take approximately two months. (The nearby community garden will not be impacted by the work.)
