Water Taxi Service Expands to Sunset Harbour:

friday through sunday service connects beach to mainland

One more way to abandon your car – and enjoy the view! The City and Water Taxi Miami have added another stop to the water taxi service between the Beach and the mainland. Starting this month, the Purdy Avenue Dock in Sunset Harbour is being added to the schedule on a pilot basis. The other stop on the Beach is the Miami Beach Marina. Connections include Bayside Marketplace and Sea Isle Marina in downtown Miami.
This won’t help with your work commute, but it is a good weekend option for getting downtown. Days of operation from the Purdy Avenue Dock are Friday through Sunday. The 38-passenger vessel accommodates passengers and bicycles.
One-way fares are $15 for adults and children five and older; $7.50 for children one to four years of age; children under a year old are free; $10 for military, senior citizens 65 years of age and older, and Miami Beach residents. Monthly passes can be purchased for $95, annual passes for $295.
For full schedule and rates, including round trip fares can be found here.
